FARM HAPPENINGS
We are transitioning into peak production season on the farm. The hens are giving us lots of eggs. The Moo Crew is overflowing our cooling tanks with fresh milk every morning. The first load of winter pigs was dropped off at the butcher last week, and our first batch of pasture-raised broiler chickens for the season is going in for processing on Monday. And we have lots of fresh produce in the farm store from Karolina's gardens and other local farms. Abundance is the word if you like to eat local!
With the hens producing so many eggs, we have started offering the discounted egg bundles on our website as well as in the store - buy 4, 6 or 10 dozen at a time and save up to $1.50 per dozen. This peak egg production usually lasts for only a few weeks in June then they start slowing down when the summer heat and humidity start rolling in. Its a similar situation with the raw milk, the Guernsey cows don't really like the heat and humidity much, and as the grasses and pasture forages get more mature they will slow down in milk production as well. But for now we have lots of raw milk available for reservations every morning online OR just stop in and pickup a few gallons in the farm store. Most days we are not selling out of milk at our current production level.
FRESH CHICKEN COMING NEXT WEEK
As noted, our first batch of pasture-raised heritage broiler chickens are scheduled for processing on Monday (June 16th). So we will have fresh chicken back in the farm store on Tuesday by noon - whole and 8-piece cutups. This year we are putting a larger percentage of each batch into parts but they will be coming later in the week as we have to drop them off at a different processor for parting out. We are also processing another batch on Wednesday June 25th so there will be more whole chickens in the store on Thursday 26th.
FARM STORE UPDATE
We have a few meat items on sale in the farm store this weekend, including the popular steak burgers for Father's Day grilling as well as beef short ribs, meaty soup bones and chicken legs. As a reminder the farm store is open every day, from 10 AM - 6 PM on weekdays, and 9 AM - 5 PM on weekends.
Local produce is also coming into season quickly. From Karolina's garden at the farm we have Cilantro, Dill, Spinach, Kale, Red and French Breakfast Radish and Rhubard. From other local farms we have Turnips, Kohlrabi, Asparagus, Red Onions, Mushrooms, Microgreens, Spring Onions, Snow Peas, and Michigan Apples.
Additional organic produce in the store includes Red/Russet/Gold potatoes, Nectarines, Avocadoes, White and Yellow Onions, Limes, Red Peppers, Carrots, Celery, Brussel Sprouts, Garlic Bulbs, and Sweet Potatoes.
With the summer weather upon us the farm weekly farm tours are filling up. We do private group tours by appointment, but we also offer the weekly farm tours every Saturday at 1:00 PM. Tickets are now available online for the June and July tour dates.
Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there!

You said in you rpeak production news update that you don’t normally sell out of milk throughout the day.
I missed your window to buy raw milk online today, 07/18/25. Do you still have some available if I swing by around 5? I’m not sure how fast you sell out of your raw milk.
Please let me know!
