Friday Farm Update - Fresh Chicken + Immune Boosters and Free Choice Minerals

Friday Farm Update - Fresh Chicken + Immune Boosters and Free Choice Minerals

FARM HAPPENINGS
Twice a day when we move the beef herd to fresh pasture, we drag this home-made wooden box along into the new paddock with the Polaris UTV.  Some folks that have seen this contraption in our pastures think we are sneaking some grain into our 100% grass-fed beef herd. But its actually a free-choice mineral feeder, with 12 separate boxes containing organic kelp mixed with Redmond salt, vitamins A, B, C, D, along with calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, copper, potassium, iron, and copper. The beef cattle are surprisingly good at understanding what vitamins and minerals their bodies need for optimal nutrition, depending on what they are getting from the pasture forages. If only we humans still had these important instincts, more would be craving nutrient-dense foods instead of Dunkin Donuts and Twinkies!

FARM STORE UPDATE
We did process another batch of pasture-raised chickens on Wednesday, and will have fresh chickens available in the store through Sunday at 5 PM.  Fresh local and organic produce this week includes cherry tomatoes, cabbage, shallots, potatoes, pears, apples, cantaloupes, and watermelons.  And lots of home-baked organic sourdough breads and treats.

We've had three of our farm team members miss work this week due to illness, so it seems like there is some funk going around.  A good time to remember some of the immune-boosting products we have available in the farm store, including raw garlic, Garlic e-Scape Fire Cider and Beet Kvass, Elderberry Juice and Syrup, apple cider vinegar, and lots of chicken, turkey, and beef bone broths.

GRASS-FED GROUND BEEF SALE
We have figured out the website glitch that was keeping the shipping option from showing up on many of our online meat bundles last week, so all is good now.  We have carried over the sale on the ground beef  for another week, so don't miss this opportunity to order a 10, 25, or 45 lb. ground beef bundle at a discount.  And we still have the free shipping offer on all orders of $250 or more.

And if you don't have plans yet for tomorrow think about coming out to join us for the Saturday farm tour, which starts at 1:00 PM every Saturday through Thanksgiving, weather permitting.  Tomorrow the forecast looks perfect - sunny with a high of 65 degrees. You can purchase tour tickets online or in the farm store.

Hope to see everyone at the farm soon…

Immune boosting products? Lol… i remember when you guys didn’t want people wearing a mask during the pandemic and gave customers dirty looks. My vaxxed family and friends haven’t spent a dime there since. Get well soon to your workers.
